I would buy the game from DICE direct if possible. Whilst I know piracy is wrong there are people out there right now finding ways to crack BF3 to avoid Origin and I don't blame them although I know that piracy is why Origin exists in the first place apart from EA ...

I suspect that it is the public beta next week. There was a private beta some time ago but I am on the list for the public and we got told this week to prepare for further instructions.

I wish it was on steam. I don't want my money going to EA and I don't want origin on my machine. I also take issue with the price of bf3 as a digital vs retail copy. It should be much cheaper online as there are no disc or retailer overheads. Instead it's 40 quid online which will be more than some shops. I'd read that steam/origin games can be as much as 70% margin. That's too much and I bet the dev doesn't see all of that. Publishers are getting greedy.

That is quite a big patch when you consider that not long ago this would have been bigger than an xbox live arcade game. Compare to Forza day 1 patch of 7mb.
Shows that there is a lot of stuff that crops up after the software goes 'gold' no doubt due to the lead times to print all the discs. Makes you wonder what the testing schedule was like.

Arcadey my arse. Forza is the full beans double expresso physics and tyre grip simulation. I'm addicted to the muscle cars they sound the bollocks.

Last fm - voice control handy when I'm in kitchen. Granted a bit casual.
Forza 4 - head tracking is ace if set up carefully. Voice control on menus also cool. Forza is hardcore.

Agreed the gt5 lighting engine is the best I have ever seen in a driving game.
Based on Turn10's comments on the lack of night and weather the only way they will be in Forza 5 with the 60fps and high detail tracks will be on the next xbox as the 360 has just about run out of performance headroom.

I do get a bit wound up by the amount of flamebait drivel that appears on this site. So much opinion - so little facts.

No unbiased gamer who has played Forza 4 with the assists turned off could ever say that it is not a serious sim. Calling it an arcade game is just ignorant and not factual.
Both GT5 and Forza are very serious sims. Its ok to like both you know! The very fact that they have used Pirelli tyre data so extensively should hint to the game taking its art and accuracy seriously. The videos on youtube of the engine note recordings are also worth a look.
